Welcome to my website! It is such an honor to serve you and fight for our rural way of life in the state Legislature. Our values and priorities are at the forefront of every decision I make on your behalf in Olympia.

Eastern Washington has some of the most beautiful scenery, bountiful resources and hearty people in the nation. My efforts have focused on bringing back the economic advantages our natural resources once provided to our local communities while still protecting the beauty and wonder of this place where we raise our children and bury our loved ones. In addition, I have shown the rest of Olympia what it means to be Seventh District strong! We have calluses on our hands, mud on our boots, and joy in our hearts because we know we work hard for everything we have.

Should you ever have a problem with a state agency or need assistance in dealing with state government bureaucracy, please contact my office. I’m here to help. I work for you!

My Priorities

With six initiatives sent to the Legislature, the People made their voices loud and clear!

In an unprecedented move, voters sent six initiatives to the Legislature this session. I led the fight to get hearings on these proposals. I also led the fight when the three that passed were brought up for debate on the House floor. The People exercised their longstanding rights and voiced their concerns. The three initiatives that didn't pass will be on the November ballot later this year.

Strengthening communities by making public safety a priority.

As a former law enforcement officer, I understand what our men and women in Blue go through everyday to keep our communities and families safe. Our officers need the tools and support to do their job. Washington state has seen an alarming increase in violent crime, retail theft, property crime, and auto theft. And we must address the fentanyl crisis that is killing so many and adding to the homelessness epidemic. With a focus on compassion and accountability, I will continue working to keep our streets, neighborhoods, and families safe while respecting those who serve and protect our communities.

Record state spending, radical environmentalism, and the rejection of common-sense solutions are making daily life for families more expensive than ever!

State spending has more than doubled in the past 10 years. During that time, the majority party in Olympia has raised nearly $80 billion in new taxes and fees. This increased spending is unsustainable. The burden placed on families, farmers, ranchers, and small business owners is unrealistic. I will continue to fight against tax increases while supporting common-sense budgeting. Our families need a break from government overreach.
