Rep. Jacquelin Maycumber says fix to vehicular police pursuits does not go far enough

Rep. Jacquelin Maycumber, R-Republic, explains her reasons for rejecting a proposed fix to the controversial vehicular police pursuit policy Democrats passed in 2021. Under Senate Bill 5352, officers would once again be able to pursue individuals if they have reasonable suspicion that one of a short list of crimes was committed, but police would be forced to continue to meet the much higher standard of probable cause for most felonies and misdemeanors.
